MOTORSLICE Walkthrough — All 8 Chapters

A clean route through all 8 chapters plus Prologue and Epilogue. No filler, no missables, just the path that works.

MOTORSLICE is roughly 9 to 10 hours on a first run. Each chapter ends with a colossal heavy-machine boss you climb and slice apart. Below is the cleanest route, plus a link to the dedicated boss guide where it matters.

Chapter 0 — Arrival (Prologue)

Tutorial. Learn movement: run, jump, double jump, wall run, slide, and chainsaw anchor. No boss. Goal: reach the elevator down into the megastructure.

Key tips

  • Hold sprint by default — P's default jog is too slow for most gaps.
  • Wall run starts the moment you face a wall mid-jump — don't hold a direction into the wall, just jump toward it.
  • Chainsaw anchor (attack mid-air against an orange surface) is your traversal tool, not just a weapon. Get used to it here.

Chapter 1 — City

Open rooftops and parkour gauntlets. First combat encounters with autonomous construction drones. Boss: Dump Truck.

Key tips

  • Parry is unlocked here. Hit a held attack against an incoming saw or hook to deflect it back.
  • Dump Truck arena: NEVER stand in front. The front-mounted crusher one-shots P. Run UNDER from the side.
  • Inside the truck, jumps are tight. Aim for the orange beams, not the floor.

Chapter 2 — Skyway

Vertical traversal across collapsing skyways. Helicopters appear as enemies. Boss: Helicopter.

Key tips

  • Parry the saw it throws — that's how you ground it for free damage.
  • Phase 2: stop trying to ground it. Use the rooftops to body-slam onto its hull mid-flight.
  • If you fall, you don't die — there are checkpoints on platforms below.

→ Read the full Helicopter guide

Chapter 3 — Sand Pit

First taste of liminal-space horror. Long fall sections and sand traps. Boss: Fur (giant Mech).

Key tips

  • Watch the floor — many holes are insta-fall, not damage.
  • Use the orange beam at the back of the Mech to climb its torso.
  • Achievement “Recycle” (throw object at enemy) is easiest here in the sand pit room.

→ Read the full Fur (Mech) guide

Chapter 4 — Ring Track

Donut-shaped circular track. Hardest chapter of Act 1. Boss: Crane Train.

Key tips

  • At the start of the boss, stay OPPOSITE the train. Hooks and mines kill on contact.
  • Order: rear crane boom → 3 crane bases → front and rear vulnerabilities.
  • Stay on the train for the last two — it slows down when you're aboard.

→ Read the full Crane Train guide

Chapter 5 — Quarry

Open arena combat with multiple drones. Setup for the chapter boss. Boss: Double Excavator.

Key tips

  • Excavator doesn't aggro until you walk close. Use that to scout the arena.
  • Bait it to slam buckets — the recovery is your weak-point window.
  • Last 2 weak points are on the tracks (treads). Approach from the rear.

→ Read the full Double Excavator guide

Chapter 6 — Fields

Wide open fields with industrial fan platforms. Boss: Combine.

Key tips

  • The trick is the fans — they launch you up onto the boss.
  • Parry the long blade to topple it for the first weak point.
  • Final weak point is on the FRONT — slide off the sloped edge and chainsaw immediately.

→ Read the full Combine guide

Chapter 7 — Megapit

The longest chapter. The boss is also a level. Boss: Bucket Wheel Excavator.

Key tips

  • First parry the boss's paw swing for the “Parry That!” achievement.
  • Use rotating platforms and horizontal poles to traverse — there is no shortcut.
  • Final stretch: ride a bucket on the wheel UP, then slide down beams to the last weak point.

→ Read the full Bucket Wheel Excavator guide

Chapter 8 — Sky (Finale)

Desert under a flying train. Final boss is the train itself. Boss: Flying Train.

Key tips

  • Run TOWARD the train when it dives. Jump onto its front to cling on.
  • Inside the cars: rotating beams kill you if you mistime jumps.
  • Final car uses a moving walkway. Don't stop running, ever.

→ Read the full Flying Train guide

Epilogue

Slacking scene + credits. Stay through the credits — there's a final interaction with Orbie.

What next?

Time estimates assume Normal difficulty and a first-time player. Speedruns and replays will be significantly shorter.
