Story & Setting

MOTORSLICE takes place inside a mysterious brutalist post-apocalyptic megastructure. The protagonist P is a sleepy “Slicer” sent in to do a routine job — eliminate the autonomous machines that infest the structure. Upon arrival she discovers the megastructure is much larger than briefed, and the job is anything but routine.

P is paired with a malfunctioning orb drone called Orbie. Together they parkour through 8 chapters of liminal corridors, brutalist exteriors, sand pits, and finally a desert under a flying train. Across the journey P slices apart 8 colossal heavy-machine bosses and unravels what the megastructure actually is.

Tonally, the game blends “slice of life” humor (the “slacking scenes”) with oppressive megalophobia. The official tagline calls it a “slice of life action-adventure with immaculate vibes.”

Characters

P (the Slicer)

The protagonist. A young woman in a yellow jumpsuit with a chainsaw. Voiced by Kira Buckland. Her job title is “Slicer” — a contractor who clears rogue machines. P is sleepy, snarky, and lethal. Players also know her from the “P-oke” achievement (poke her face on the menu enough and she quits the game).

Orbie (Orb Drone)

P's malfunctioning support drone. A small floating orb that follows her, can be thrown at enemies for damage, and occasionally breaks. Required for several puzzles. Players who want to be cruel can kill Orbie for the “Orbie Hater” achievement — by attacking it through the camera until the screen breaks.

The Machines

The hostile inhabitants of the megastructure are autonomous construction equipment: drones, helicopters, dump trucks, excavators, combines, cranes, and a flying train. Each chapter culminates in a colossal version that becomes a climbable boss.
